An arts for organisations workshop run by Regional Arts NSW

A WORKSHOP has been run by Regional Arts NSW at Lismore today to help Northern Rivers groups develop arts projects for artists of all abilities.

The workshop drew nearly 40 people and was part of Access All Areas, a series of workshops from Regional Arts NSW being run across the state this month.

Today's workshop was held at the Gordon Pavilion, Oakes Oval, from 10am and was set up to educate a group which included representatives from organizations such as Arts Northern Rivers, NORPA, RED Inc, Tralala Blip as well as local support carers.

They all convened to learn about partnership programs, and the ways in which they can work together to create

arts projects, Arts Northern Rivers chief executive Peter Wood said.

Mr Wood said the attendees learned about current grants for arts projects, specifically the new Arts NSW Community Partnership grants.

The day's workshop was about learning how to create arts projects "incorporating people from both disability and non-disability organizations and bringing them both together", he said.

The workshop was held to help attendees with an idea they may have or may create in the future, aiding them in working together, producing "creative partnerships with professional outcomes" while engaging people with disabilities.

The projects that they were brainstorming would take people from "key disability organizations and key arts organizations" from the local area.

"The whole idea is about creating a professional outcome, artistic outcomes. It's about disability organizations working with professional artists," he said.
