AN inspirational woman who has told the world of her miracle baby at 50 will give a talk at the Tweed Heads Library.

Next month Australia's oldest mother to conceive naturally, Anthea Nicholas, will talk about her book, Unplanned First Time Mum at 50: My Inspiring Story of Overcoming Incredible Odds, which is giving hope to women all over the world

The Gold Coast based author is excited about coming to the Tweed and said she hoped her story would help women.

"The book wasn't intended to be inspirational," she said. "It just turned out that way."

Meeting and marrying the love of her life Peter Byrnes in her late 40s, Mrs Nicholas didn't consider children as an option let alone a possibility.

The book tells of how Mr Byrnes wanted children but Mrs Nicholas just shrugged it off, saying it was a foolish thought.

"It explains how it all came to be," she said.

Mr Byrnes got quite sick with liver trouble at one stage and the pair went on a special diet in a bid to help him recover.

One thing led to another and Mrs Nicholas found herself crying in her bathroom, holding a positive pregnancy test.

"I howled and Pete just jumped all around like it was a victory dance," she said. "I was more petrified."

The middle-aged mum said she loved being a mother to Nicholas Jay Byrnes and wouldn't change it for the world.

Mrs Nicholas will be at the Tweed Heads Library on February 15 at 6pm.

If you want to hear her story and more about her up-coming books and nation wide tour, make sure to book your place on 07 5569 3150.
