THE full program of the Bleach Festival was launched on Thursday night.

Bleach is a festival that honours the beach and surfing cultures of the southern Gold Coast and run to coincide with the Quiksilver and Roxy pros held at Snapper Rocks in March.

Festival director Louise Bezzina said this year's festival, now in its second year, was much larger than that 2012 program.

"It's double the size of last year's event," Ms Bezzina said.

"What's great about this festival is that the art, surf and business communities come together to celebrate the southern Gold Coast culture."

Ms Bezzina said one of the most exciting events in the program was the longest wave project.

"This is a three-part project" she said.

"It celebrates the ride of Damon Harvey in 2002 when he rode a wave from Snapper Rocks to North Kirra.

"We will have a historical photographic exhibit, a walk along that stretch of beach, and a contemporary art exhibition in shipping containers.

"Eight artists are contributing to the contemporary exhibition."

Honouring the feat of Damian Harvey fits the Bleach festival with both covering a big part of the southern Gold Coast.

The Bleach Festival runs from February 22 until March 3.
