JOHN Pitt is handing over the reins.

For four years, he has worked as secretary for the Murwillumbah Men's Shed.

Alongside inspirational and like-minded men, he has helped create a space for men to come together and express themselves.

"He's left some pretty big shoes to fill," said co coordinator Phil Davison.

"We couldn't have done it without him."

Mr Pitt is turning his attention to the Tweed Men's Shed, now that the shed at Murwillumbah is up and running.

"There's a great bunch of blokes at the Murwillumbah Men's Shed," Mr Davison said.

"They've really put their shoulders into it all.

"The Tweed shed promises to evoke the same kind of enthusiasm and commitment."

There are "heaps" of projects on the agenda, according to Mr Davison.

"Tweed will be different as we are starting from scratch.

"We will have to build the shed.

"It's a clear slate."

The Tweed Men's Shed is looking for donations from builders and concreters.

Materials are needed, as well as some expert help and advice.

"Any help would be greatly appreciated," Mr Davison said.
