Regular video updates being posted from CSG meeting

UPDATE: 12.10pm: A coal seam gas consultation held by NSW Planning Minister Brad Hazzard has been upstaged by at least 800 anti-CSG protesters and Northern Rivers locals angry about the government's CSG policy.

Mr Hazzard was surrounded by protesters from the moment he stepped out of his car outside Lismore City Hall just prior to 10am, in unison shouting 'no CSG'.

A stream of protesters flooded into the auditorium, blocking fire exits and forcing police to delay the meeting until exits had been cleared.

Panel members from the Department of Planning and the Office of Water alongside Lismore MP Thomas George and Mr Hazzard struggled to control the audience.

At one point, a child was met with a standing ovation when she asked Mr Hazzard to 'promise me my animals won't get poisoned'.

Several times during the meeting the anger and frustration of audience members boiled over into chants and shouts of protest.

As Mr Hazzard moved to close the meeting, a chorus of protesters shouting 'no means no' accompanied the panel as they attempted to leave the building.

UPDATE 11.45am: Unfortunately we're having technical difficulties with our live feed. We are going to try posting video updates of the fiery meeting as it progresses. Crowd estimates for the meeting are close to 1000.
