RICHMOND MP Justine Elliot will be taking a peek at Tweed's new $7 million GP super clinic on Monday next week.

Tweed residents will be able to enjoy the convenience of having multiple doctors on site when the centre is opened in May of this year.

Construction crews have welcomed Mrs Elliot on site to inspect the super clinic as it nears completion.

"We'll get our construction hats back on and go around and have a look," Mrs Elliot said.

Mrs Elliot has previously described the super clinic as a one-stop-shop for primary health care and specialists on site will include a physiotherapist, psychiatrist and pathologist.

"It will offer huge benefits, there's a whole list of medical services in one spot," she said.

The MP made a promise to deliver the GP Super clinic when she was elected and was happy to be able to announce the project was near completion.

"The excitement and enthusiasm from the community has been great, she said.

"And it will take the pressure off our already busy hospitals."

"I'm really proud to deliver on the election promise."

The buildings construction began in August 2012 when the first soil was turned by Mrs Elliot and building crews have worked hard to ensure a quick turnaround.

"Everyone has done a remarkable job," she said.

"It's been so exciting watching it all develop."

Mrs Elliot wanted to congratulate all involved in the clinic's conception and construction.

"It's a real credit to all involved, she said.

"First to the group of doctors running the super clinic and to all of the builders and architects involved in the project."

Local practitioners comprising Ausjendia Pty Ltd will operate the clinic and they will also offer training and educational opportunities for health students.
