WITH the Valley packed out for the holiday season but the weather refusing to co-operate, we thought it would be good to put together a few activities you can do rain, hail and even shine.

Ten pin bowling

Nestled behind the greyhound track at 288 Pound St, Grafton is the Ten Pin Bowling centre. Shout the kids a couple of games. Opening hours vary so the best way avoid disappointment is to phone 6642 6055.

Surf photography exhibition

The good folk at the Yamba Museum have put together an exhibition documenting the rich surfing history of Angourie Point.

With photos right through from the inception of surfing at Angourie in 1961 to modern shots of locals carving up at some big-wave secret spots on the Clarence Coast, it's the perfect flat-day tonic.

The exhibition is on at the Yamba Museum in River St, Yamba, next door to the golf club.

Grafton Jungle Gym

Why not let the kids run wild in an indoor play centre? Grafton Jungle Gym has everything required to tire your little monkeys out. This is one way to ensure you get some sleep.

The Museum of Interesting Things

Located at Nymboida, about a 45-minute drive south of Grafton, is The Museum of Interesting Things.

The museum houses everything from a dinosaur skull to the armour Russell Crowe wore in the Gladiator film.

It is on Armidale Rd, Nymboida in the Coaching Station Inn.

Grafton Regional Art Gallery

The Grafton Regional Art Gallery, at 138 Fitzroy St, has the 41 finalists of the prestigious Archibald Prize on display.

Movies

At the Saraton Theatre in Grafton, Les Miserables and The Hobbit have been very popular choices.

At the Yamba Cinema, Wreck-it Ralph has been the top seller.
