Lampard might leave Chelsea during EPL transfer window

VETERAN midfielder Frank Lampard can leave Chelsea and join a continental club on a free transfer from tomorrow.

There should be no shortage of clubs wanting to talk to him after the England player produced a match-winning performance against Everton.

The 34-year-old, whose contract expires at season's end, but can move overseas before then, scored twice as Chelsea moved to third after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Steven Pienaar put the hosts in front after only a minute before Lampard equalised before half-time and then scored the winner 19 minutes from the end.

Luis Suarez also scored twice as Liverpool won 3-0 at bottom-of-the-ladder Queens Park Rangers.

Daniel Agger scored the other goal.

Only three times in EPL history has a team survived relegation after being bottom at the turn of the year.

Rumour will finally turn to fact when the January transfer window opens tomorrow, with the move of Lille defender Mathieu Debuchy to Newcastle expected to kick off an avalanche of transfers.
