HIS voice is already familiar to many Australians but now fans of Ian "Macca" McNamara have the chance to see him up close and personal during his current national tour.

Macca has hit the road with his Gumboot Band and his musical mate Digger Revell "the man with the big hat" with a 12-month national concert tour to celebrate more than 30 years of "Australia All Over", the legendary ABC Sunday morning radio show that connects Aussies all over this wide brown land and around the world.

And tomorrow night the tour will bring him to the Valley when he performs at South Grafton Ex-Services Club.

The Macca concert tour which started in Gosford in October and will finish in Tasmania in September will showcase the songs that have touched him and his listeners, spin a yarn or two and bring to the stage his genuine love of country that makes Australia All Over part of the Sunday morning ritual for so many people.

"Sunday Morning show has become the focus of my life really, not only because I enjoy revealing some of the characters of Australia but also because I have made so many wonderful friends," Macca said.

As he travels the country, Macca will also be joined by special guests, singing songs from his best selling Top 100 CD and just like Sunday Morning, you never know who will show up.

"My mum used to say after reading my mail for not a few years how wonderful the listeners were. And that's the real privilege. Being taken into the confidence of so many wonderful Australians then meeting them at outside broadcasts or a concert," he said.
