Masters boat crew could not maintain heat form in final

THE Minnie Water Wooli Surf Boat rowers competed in the Coffs Harbour Interstate Craft Carnival at Park Beach last weekend.

Five crews entered the competition and all gave it their best shot.

The 160 years masters crew performed exceptionally well, taking out all three of their preliminary rounds with a first place and making it to their final.

This was a fantastic effort for the masters crew, but unfortunately their performance didn't continue in the final.

The other four crews didn't qualify.

Congratulations to the surf boat crews and the club wishes all the best for their future competitions.

The nipper groups will be back on Minnie Water beach this Sunday for another activity day.

The day will also be a pointscore day which means the nippers will be competing for points for a higher rank in their end-of-year awards.

This is always a great motivator for some good competition and sportsmanship which is always displayed by the nippers.

There is also the chance to attend a development camp for children from U9s to U14s.

It is always a fantastic event for nippers and will develop many valuable skills as well as strengthening their performance as a team.

The camp will be held on Saturday, December 8, on Minnie Water Beach and will include board, swim, flags and sprint activities and lunch and afternoon tea will also be provided.

There will also be two special guests from the Woolgoolga Surf School who will be helping the nippers to improve their surfing technique.

If you are interested in the development camp, please contact Geoff Brodin on 0415 667 177.

Make sure you get in soon because the camp will only run if there are sufficient numbers of nippers attending the day.
