LIVING and studying on the Tweed Coast is just too good to refuse, according to Southern Cross University (SCU) student Claire Lusted.

Ms Lusted is one of thousands of students who have arrived from across the state back on campus for Orientation Week.

First year health student Claire Lusted said it was worth the move from Coffs Harbour.

"This University offers the exact course I want, but I'm more excited for the lifestyle change" she said.

"We are all pretty excited about orientation for the social side of things and to meet new people."

Undergraduate Kate Fetterplace said making the move from South Coast of NSW to the Tweed was easy because she loves the area.

"I'm still getting used to the heat though" she said.

Southern Cross University orientation co-coordinator Ann-Maree Wilkinson said Orientation Week had retained its importance on the SCU calendar.

"It's not only a great opportunity for students to become familiar with their campus, local facilities and classmates, it's also a time to learn essential study skills to help them through their all-important first session," she said.

This week the University will hold a range of activities including a themed party, a market day and free lunch with entertainment, showcasing local talent 'Clocks & Dice'.
