Kacey Lloyd, aka Miss Petticoat Polly, will vie for the Miss Classic title.
Kacey Lloyd, aka Miss Petticoat Polly, will vie for the Miss Classic title.

GLAMOUR, confidence and big hair are Cabarita woman Kacey Lloyd's secret weapons in the battle to win a pin-up girl competition.

Ms Lloyd, who goes under the name of Petticoat Polly, will compete in the Queensland state final of the Miss Pinup Australia contest.

It's a nationwide search for the ultimate 1950s pin-up girl.

"It's also a celebration of women getting together and becoming confident in their own skin," Ms Lloyd said.

"I was chosen by a panel of judges to compete in the Queensland state final at Wynnum RSL on February 16."

The competition is based around the hair, make-up and beautiful vintage dresses of that era.

"I will be competing in the Miss Classic which is for women over the age of 30 and will be judged in five different sections."

The sections are daywear, swimwear, lingerie, evening wear and a talent section.

The competition is open to women of all sizes with categories like Miss Perfect for women over the age of 18; Miss Illustrated for the tattooed girls; Miss Va Va Voom for the ladies size 14 and over; Miss Prestige for women over 40; Miss Neo for the modern day pin-up; and even a Mr Pinup section.
