THIEVES made Christmas a nightmare for Menniti's Seafoods this year.
The business was targeted by two criminals that broke in and stole the safe.
"It's a bit of a kick in the guts," manager Nic Crompton said.
The store had worked extremely hard during the Christmas rush and to be broken into on Christmas Day was a big blow.
Mr Crompton said the criminals entered the business' back door early in the morning.
"They jumped the fence and kicked in the back roller door," he said.
"They walked straight into the building.
"They spent 10 minutes trying to open the safe and another 35 minutes pulling it out of the grounds."
Nothing else was disturbed at the premises.
"They came into the building and knew where the cameras were," Mr Crompton said.
"They knew what they were looking for."
The two offenders were caught on CCTV footage by the business.
Owner Joe Palermo discovered the scene when he returned to his store to pick up a forgotten seafood platter.
