AS police investigations continue into this morning's ram raid at Pottsville, BCU head office has said internal security footage would be reviewed.

The bank issued a statement to My Daily News this afternoon and had already indicated on its website that the Pottsville branch would remain closed today due to extensive damage from the robbery.

BCU chief executive Lyndon Kingston said although the attack was a blow to BCU members in Pottsville, it was fortunate it happened while the store was unoccupied and no staff or members were injured.

"The damage is still being assessed and given the impending Christmas season delays to repairs are expected," a BCU spokeswoman said.

For immediate assistance with banking, Pottsville BCU members in Pottsville should visit BCU Murwillumbah or BCU Tweed Heads South or call BCU on 1300 228 228.

It's unknown when the credit union would reopen.

This is the second time the branch has been the victim of thieves. It was targetted by armed robbers in June 2011.
