Rock icon You Am I back in the Tweed with new material

CHART-topping band You Am I will be performing its popular rock anthems at Twin Towns Services Club this Saturday night.

The band will bring its soaring vocals and musical talent to the Tweed for one night only in what's expected to be a thoroughly entertaining show.

With ARIA topping singles such as Heavy Heart, Berlin Chair and Tuesday, the band offers a nostalgic throwback to the musical talent of Australian artists in the 1990s.

However, the band released a self-titled studio in 2010, which was streamed free from its official website and offered a taste of a more progressive You Am I.

Twin Towns general manager Rob Smith said the newly renovated Twin Towns was an excellent venue and anticipation was running high.

"It's the brand new Twin Towns," he said.

"There's plenty of stuff to see, it's a good chance to come and see what's new with the club before you catch the show."

Advertising and Marketing Manager Frank Di-Tullio encouraged people to come and watch a great show in a great venue.

"Walk right up, there's still tickets available," he said.

"The club as a venue has lots of dining and entertainment."

Mr Di-Tullio also said that the showroom would provide an intimate occasion for You Am I fans.

"It's a small showroom," he said.

"You could pretty much reach out and touch the band."

You am I will be supported by special guests the Otchkies.

Doors open at 8pm (NSW) and tickets cost $35 pre-sale or $40 at the door on the night.
