Show your colleagues how you really feel with a free coffee

THE identity of cupid has been revealed and his arrow is headed straight for Tweed Heads.

Because today is Valentine's Day, local coffee guru Peter McCormack will make it his business to turn up the romance in work places across the Tweed.

On his daily South Tweed coffee round, the Café 2 U barrister will make a special offer at each stop.

"You can buy one coffee and I'll give you one free, but there's a catch," he said.

"You can only keep one coffee and the other must be given to your love or a colleague you fancy."

McCormack said despite all the marketing hoopla of Valentine's Day, it's nice to put that aside and celebrate love and romance for at least one day during the year.

Standing by the motto nothing ventured, nothing gained he has set the challenge for people to step out of their comfort zone and make someone's day.

"Come buy a coffee, you never know who you might meet," Mr McCormack said.

"And that goes for the ladies too.

"We are all about equal opportunities and I encourage girls to join in on the fun. "

Mr McCormack said he enjoyed celebrating Valentine's Day each year and believed coffee is a wonderfully simple gesture.

The buy one get one free deal will be offered for Valentine's Day only and may be used for standard sized coffees or mochas.

"I encourage people to enjoy the day in every sense," he said.

The Café2U van will make its usual stops throughout the course of the day. Businesses include;

  • Australia Post
  • The Tender centre
  • Antz Automotive
  • Millard Tires
  • Coastal Plastic
  • Origin Energy
  • Brims
  • Neave
  • All Prints
  • RTA
  • Bunzl Catering Supplies.
  • Pro Cuts
