THE family of cancer sufferer Jo Goldstein has been inundated with love and support after The QT reported yesterday their devastating news of learning she had only weeks left to live.

Businesses and community members have reached out to the 32-year-old Leichhardt mum to help set up her husband and three young boys before she dies.

Jo was admitted to the Mater Hospital on Tuesday after pre-chemo blood tests detected high levels of calcium in her system.

While she remained in hospital overnight, the family received the news a pool had been donated to them.

Neighbour and campaign organiser Josh Lehmann said the family had long been saving for a pool for their sons, but had exhausted their savings on paying for treatments.

"When we found out at Christmas time doctors had given Jo eight weeks to live, we had to do something," he said.

Josh and his wife Leah launched a Facebook page - This Hair Goes for Jo - to reach out to the community for help.

So far they have raised $11,000 for the family. A target of $30,000 was set to pay for a pool and finish the renovations to the Goldstein's home.

AdaptIt Group and Retracom Manufacturing have offered to build a veranda, while the Telstra store in Ipswich has offered to assist with bills and provide free Foxtel for a year.
