MY Daily News is happy to report that one of our Adopt-A-Family campaign charities, Uniting Care, has adopted all its families out this Christmas.

The annual campaign started earlier this month and was developed to help families struggling at Christmas.

Tweed residents can adopt a local family to provide a hamper of gifts and non-perishable food that will help brighten up an otherwise difficult time.

Uniting Care is the first of three charities to adopt out all families and its organiser Merryl Mills said she was surprised at the speedy result.

"All of the families have been adopted already," she said.

"There's a lot of generous people around."

The Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul still have families available to adopt this Christmas, so get in touch to lend a helping hand.

See the full list of families available for adoption in this Saturday' Daily News paper.
