EAGER students across NSW woke up to find their much anticipated, or dreaded, HSC exam results yesterday.

Included in the mix was Phoebe Montgomery, one of 88 Mount St Patrick College's Year 12 students.

She was so nervous she woke up at 5am, an hour before the 6am scheduled results release.

The bright student scored extremely well on her seven exams, which included 100% on her Religious Education exam.

"Considering everything that's happened I'm ecstatic with my results," she said.

The 18-year-old student got extremely sick and was taken to hospital when sitting for her HSC exams in early November.

She still sat all of her exams and achieved the outstanding results.

Phoebe now hopes to get into a double degree of journalism and law at the University of Queensland and then transfer to a school in the United Kingdom.

"Writing is my strong point, I dream to write for Doctor Who," she said.

Mt St Patrick College made the Board of Studies Distinguished Achievers List for students obtaining a mark of 90% or more in a subject on 54 occasions.

Principal Tony Daly said it was an amazing effort by everyone.

"We're extremely pleased with the outstanding results obtained in the 2012 Higher School Certificate exams," he said.

Other outstanding individuals included Gaia Hermann, Kirsty Jenal, Maddie Sherrah, Jessica Hutley and Mikayla Mongan.
