TWEED sisters Kiah and Zoë Curling are taking the drag racing world by storm.

The duo has been into the sport for just four years but is already making big tracks.

This year Kiah, 17, placed runner up for the JP Racing Eighth Mile Series competition.

Both of the girls were involved with four race days throughout Queensland including one in Gladstone, another in Willowbank and two in Warwick.

"It was for the juniors," she said.

"There were about 30 cars.

"It felt amazing to win, it was a big achievement."

Zoe, 15, placed 4th in the series.

"I love it because it's so fast," she said.

The daring teen said she had no fear when driving at 150km/h.

Both of the girls have also competed in various other junior competitions throughout the year.

Their father has been a circuit racer since he was about 18 proving Kiah and Zoë have the racing gene in their blood.

When it comes to their parents Zoë said their mum was sometimes worried about them but she's never tried to stop their need for speed.
