MEN hiding behind black balaclavas violently attacked two men at a Kingscliff property overnight.

About 3.50am the males, wearing long black tops and pants, forced their way into the premises at Vulcan St.

"Three males entered the flat with one brandishing a knife," Tweed-Byron crime manager Acting Inspector Saul Wiseman said.

"The offenders have demanded money from the victims.

"One Victim has used a stool to force the offenders from the residence."

The victim received a laceration to his upper left arm and multiple abrasions to face and torso during the attack before he was transported to Tweed Hospital.

Insp Wiseman said the offenders "damaged and destroyed" the flat.

The crime scene is still being examined and detectives are continuing their investigation.

The offender's descriptions are limited but Insp Wiseman said one is about 175cm tall, another had a muscular build and the other was skinny.

It is unknown if this attack is linked to Saturday's robbery at Cabarita Bowls Club.
