THE Clarence Valley is fortunate to have four of New South Wales's most pristine waterways, three of which flow through the Yuraygir National Park.

The Sandon and Wooli rivers and Station Creek are a hub for fisher folk, campers and devotees of surfing and flora and faun.

Nothing gives a better vantage point or slow view of this coastal landscape than walking this unique region.

With its two overlapping ecosystems, this region offers an extraordinary opportunity to engage with nature when you do the Yuraygir Coastal Walk.

The 65km designated path established by the National Parks and Wildlife Service two years ago begins at Angourie Point and passes through six coastal villages, finishing at Red Rock in the south.

The four-day trek by comparison is a wonderful beginner's guide to walking this remote great southern land. Information for the Yuraygir Walk is available through NPWS or Clarence Tourism.
