Adam Brand settles into Southern Gold Coast home

IF you're an Adam Brand fan rest assured that this man's personality is just as captivating as his voice.

My Daily News caught up with Brand in his beautiful new abode on the Southern Gold Coast.

The popular country musican and Australian personality moved in last Monday and after spending five nights in his new home, he's fallen in love.

As we sit in his renovated fibro shack he pulls out his Macbook Pro and begins to scroll through the thousand plus images he's taken to remember the transition from old to new.

Its clear, Brand isn't your average celebrity.

"I worked my butt off," he said.

"I mean I don't have much technical skill but you know I was there helping."

He wanted to be right in there from pouring of the concrete slab all the way to installing the faucets.

He made the time when he wasn't touring to help "the boys".

Despite a few minor cuts, bruises and stitches it went relevantly smooth sailing.

Before settling into his almost beachside paradise he said he was practically a transient.

But in the past he had helped build some of his other residents, but never to this extent.

"I've never anything of this scale," he said.

"I love it, a lot of people have horror stories, they say oh no I wouldn't do that...but I said I'm loving it, I'm ready to go again," he said.

"Because you learn so much, I'm ready to go okay, get another one and I'll try again."

His new home certainly has that homely feeling, much different to his accommodations in hotels and apartments both here and in the United States.

"You couldn't get me out of here with  wild horses now," he said looking around his new lounge room.

"It's a really calm space.

"This little neighbourhood, this pocket, is really friendly."

Brand has already made friends with the neighbours and said they're into sharing recipes and having a good old chin wag.

Her Italian heritage certainly helps out in the kitchen, as we talked Brand was drying chilli seeds on his car bonnet and growing herbs and spices in pots out the back.

When it comes to the outdoors, although his little slice of beach paradise is in the perfect spot for an early morning surf, Brand said he was more into skate boarding.

"This is the perfect spot," he said.

"I can skate up the street and get milk and just skate around."

"There's so much around here."

But he won't get to enjoy everything his new pad has to offer for too long.

Brand is heading up north for a number of festivals in the coming few months including CMC Rocks and the Gympie Muster.

He's also hoping to have an acoustic album out by Christmas and a brand new album, which some inspiration may be drawn from his new digs, out by mid next year.

But for now he will be chilling out, at least until his gig at Twin Town Services Club on Saturday.

Brand, with fellow country boy Travis Collins, opening the show, will get the room rocking with the latest show at Twin Towns which will focus on Dirt Track Cowboys.

Tickets are $35 and the show kicks off at 8.30pm.

To make a booking all 1800 014 014.
