THEY may not be winners every time on the pitch, but the Ballina District Under-13 cricket team are top dogs when it comes to sportsmanship.

Tony Yager's side lost itssecond match of the Ballina LJ Hooker Under-13 carnival yesterday, going down by just a single run to Hawkesbury.

Despite a frantic finish, the hosts were unable to capture their first win of the week.

Although a win eluded them, Ballina were full of smiles and still enjoying the experience.

The carnival features sides from across New South Wales and Queensland.

The action continues today.
