THERE'S been another tragic death in the waters off Woolgoolga.

Shortly after 4.30pm on Wednesday emergency crews responded to a call a body was seen floating face down in water off Woolgoolga Headland.

Two members of the Woolgoolga Surf Life Saving Club made their way from the clubhouse to the northern side of the headland in an Inflatable Rescue Boat and recovered the man's body.

The body was then taken to the rocks before being moved to a waiting ambulance at the Headland car park where efforts to revive the man were unsuccessful.
