Chopper airlifts man from Nunderi as floods cut off road

THE Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter airlifted a man with a broken hip from Nunderi this morning.

The helicopter was called in to evacuate the man because flooded roads had cut off the property, near Murwillumbah.

A Westpac Life Saver Rescue helicopter spokeswoman said poor weather conditions on Monday forced the grounding of the helicopter for the day.
