HERE'S your chance to get a free frozen coke from Ronald McDonald with nothing but Monopoly money.

Tweed residents will be heading to South Tweed McDonald's on January 30 to claim a free frozen coke, paid for by Monopoly board game money.

The McDonald's promotion is part of a larger Monopoly competition, with lots of prizes up for grabs.

South Tweed McDonald's licensee John Davis was looking forward to seeing how many customers cash in on the promotion.

"I'm really excited that everyone's favourite game is returning to our restaurants," he said.

"I'm sure the 2013 Australian Monopoly will not disappoint with nearly $100 million in prizes for everyone to win.

Mr Davis hoped the promotion attracted people who might not otherwise come to McDonald's.

"I hope to see new and familiar faces with their Monopoly money ready to hand in for a frozen coke on Wednesday," he said.

McDonald's Australia chief marketing officer Mark Lollback said there would be more prizes to win throughout the competition.

"Nobody ever really believes they can win but this time around Aussies have a one in five chance of winning some of the greatest prizes we've ever had to offer, including $5000 cash, a new Kia or a trip to sunny California," he said.

"In the prize pool there's also more than one million cheeseburgers, two million sundaes and more than three million packets of small fries or fruit packs up for grabs."
