MOST people walking past a boarded up corner store on Kennedy Dr wouldn't give it a second look but the property does offer a unique opportunity, according to a real estate agent.

Owner Property Group principal Merrick Keane said there has been a lot of interest in the property over the years.

The shop on Kennedy Dr has been closed for six years but the owner still occupies the riverfront property.

"At best it is a renovation or a complete redevelopment," Mr Keane said.

"It's a very interesting property. It can be subdivided as it is on two blocks.

"It's a commercial site you would have to do another DA (development application) but you could claim existing use to open the business.

"If the front was knocked down then you would never be able to build on that frontage again."

The owner of the property was unavailable for comment about the property.
