Hyundai's wagon version of the i30 is scheduled to arrive early next year.

HYUNDAI will launch its wagon version of the i30 early next year.

The Hyundai i30 Tourer will be available in two trim levels, Active and Elite, with a choice of petrol or diesel powertrains - the 1.6-litre Gamma GDi petrol engine achieving 99kW at 6300rpm and 164.3Nm at 4850 rpm, or the 1.6-litre UII CRDi diesel engine achieving 94kW at 4000rpm and 260Nm at 1900-2750 rpm.

Both engines will be available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with sequential manual mode.

Hyundai said the Tourer is designed to achieve a maximum safety rating, with Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), and ABS with EBD & Brake Assist System (BAS), all standard.

Sharing the i30 hatch's 2650mm wheelbase, the i30 Tourer adds 185mm in total length and offers 528-litres of stowage capacity with rear seats up, an increase of 150-litres over the hatch.

This expands to 1642 litres with the second row seats folded flat, an increase of 326 litres.

Supplementary underfloor storage compartments further add to the i30 Tourer's versatile and practical nature.

Equipment levels of i30 Tourer models will be similar to their hatchback stable mates. Model specification will be available closer to launch.
