Kingscliff to host Carols by the Coast event

Brenda Strong GLA031211XMAS

FOR more than 30 years, Kingscliff has been bringing its community together for its annual Kingscliff's Carols by the Coast.

This year the event will be held on December 13th beginning at 7pm in Lions Club Park, Marine Parade, Kingscliff.

The event showcases local talent, including Grace Steel, Peter Leonard, The Auslan Christmas Choir, John Bennett, Shirley King, Andrea Szabo, Jayne Henry, Paul Ensbey, and Gillian Leonard.

Many of these performers have performed for Carols by the Coast in previous years, showing the true spirit of the community and the season.

The students from Cudgen and Kingscliff Public Schools also take to the stage, joined by Santa of course, to help celebrate the Christmas season.

Performer Gillian Leonard has been co-organizing the event for the past 15 years and said that she does it for the community.

"The community looks forward to it every year," Leonard said.

While there is no cost to attend the event, there will be a barbeque and drinks for purchase.

There will also be Eveready battery operated candles, which are safer for children and can be reused, to add more "twinkle" to the celebration. All proceeds from the sale of these candles goes towards the Lions Club.

Be sure to join in with your community on December 13th to help celebrate Carols by the Coast.
