Man killed in tractor rollover named by police

A MAN who sustained fatal head injuries from a tractor rollover has been named as David Pierce by police.

Tweed/Byron Local Area Command Inspector Greg Jago said the 44-year-old Murwillumbah man was using a tractor and slasher on a steep block of land in Bilambil Heights on Wednesday.

"It appears the tractor rolled over and the man died at the scene," he said.

"Police and Workcover are now investigating."

Insp Jago said police were called to the scene after members of the public discovered the body at Broadway Esplanade.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
