Mother's day breakfast recipe ideas

MOTHER’S Day breakfast in bed is not just a novelty for mum - it's your chance to spoil her!

Avoid burnt toast and a fake smile with these Mother’s Day breakfast recipes from the following celebrity chefs and trainer...

Television chef Iain "Huey" Hewitson

Fried egg sandwiches

MOTHERS are wonderful! For Mother's Day every year my brother and I would serve what we thought was our very special Mother's Day breakfast. It was only when I got older that I discovered that she wasn’t a great fan of fried food, but because we got so much pleasure, she invariably scoffed the lot. She turns 92 soon and I bet she misses those days when lots of giggles emanated from the kitchen."

Sunshine Coast chef Annette Sym

Blueberry flapjacks

"ONE of the best things that ever happened to me was becoming a Mum. I couldn’t imagine my life without my girls and am now a proud Grandmother as well. Mother’s Day is one of my favourite days of the year. With a lie in, a good book to read and a delicious breakfast in bed I can’t think of a better way to start the day. But then it only gets better as I am banned from the kitchen!"

The Biggest Loser's Michelle Bridges

Garlic mushroom omelettes

Michelle has a tasty recipe for mums who want to stay in shape. "Nothing, but nothing, beats this high-protein, low-calorie breakfast. I especially love it after training – the garlic mushrooms are to die for. Some people leave one egg yolk in the mix, but if you do you’ll need to add 50–70 calories (depending on the size of the egg) to your daily count."
