TINTENBAR-East Ballina are a great chance of getting an early jump on their Far North CoastLJ Hooker League cricket rivals with an outright win over Terranora Lakes at Bilambil Oval.

The 'Bar bowled out Terranora for only 86 last Saturday and reached 6-166 in reply by stumps with Kane Hamilton to resume this afternoon after scoring a quickfire 46 on the first day.

More quick runs would build a big lead and give the fast-medium attack led by Abe Crawford, Brett Crawford and Luke Shay a chance to press for maximum points.

In an innings where five Terranora players were out for ducks, the 58-year-old Dave Russell carried his bat for 33 not out.

Pottsville might also fancy their chances of outright points at Megan Crescent Oval, Lennox Head

With Jayden Hoare scoring 172, Pottsville declared at 5-340 on the first day and in reply Lennox are struggling at 4-42.

Mark Denmeade, who opened the batting, is 27 not out.

In other games to be completed this afternoon:

Ballina Bears are 2-61 chasing Marist Brothers' 177 at Fripp Oval, Ballina. Promising youngster Nathanael Scott (15) and former Grafton all-rounder Brad Robertson (14) are the not out batsmen.

Byron Bay should take the points against Murwillumbah after piling on 299 at Rabjones Oval, Murwillumbah.

Alstonville will resume at 2-65 in reply to the Casino Cavaliers' 177 at Queen Elizabeth Park, Casino. Greg Potter, returning to the game after a couple of seasons off, hit 50 not out on the first day.
