SANTA Claus took on a different role from his traditional job and adjudicated over an Australian Idol-like talent quest at Burringbar Public School this week.

Although the North Pole resident shares certain physical attributes with Idol hitman Kyle Sandilands, Santa took a more positive approach and, rather than tear the performers apart, provided constructive feedback.

Performances included a keyboard playing transformer, lollipop ladies, dancing groups and a bush ballad boy among others.

Principal Helen Atkins said the school was proud of its academic and sporting excellence and could now add creative performances to this tradition.

"Burringbar Public School was awash with talented students from as young as five who skipped, shuffled, juggled and danced whilst being judged by a very special guest, Santa Claus," Mrs Atkins said.

The quest was divided into different sections and young Charlie Munro took out the junior individual contest while Cameron Tartan won the senior individual competition.

Dance group Party Rocks won the junior group contest and the senior group competition was won by another dance group called Hot Girls.

The school is now accepting enrolments for 2013 and bus travel from Pottsville, Crabbes Creek and Moobal is available.

For all enquiries please contact the school on (02) 6677 1469.
