PETER Senior's golden end to 2012 continued with more success yesterday as he wrapped up the $45,000 Byron Bay Golf Club Schweppes / Nor East Drinks Australian Legends Tour Championship.

The 53-year-old, who recently sealed his 30th professional win with a stunning victory in the Australian Open, compiled a solid three-under-par round to comfortably take the title.

Gold Coast-based Senior finished four shots ahead of nearest rival Terry Price to take the trophy.

There were also plenty of smiles from fans as jovial Senior kept the crowds happy with some friendly banter throughout his final round.

About 160 professional and amateur players took part in the three-day event.

Club president Rob MacMillan was unequivocal in his summary of it.

"This is the sixth consecutive tournament we have had and I think everyone would agree it's been the best," he said.

"It has been a fabulous three days."
