David Koch slammed for breast feeding remark

TELEVISION host David Koch has come under fire after he expressed his views on breastfeeding yesterday.

The show was airing a segment about Bribie Island mum Liana Webster who had spoken out against breastfeeding discrimination after being told to cover up or leave Bribie Island aquatic centre earlier this week.

Ms Webster spoke to Sunrise with Morayfield Mums owner Harmonie Perry

Mr Koch (pictured) said he thought it was "fair enough" for people to ask breastfeeding mums to be a bit more discreet.

Co-host Samantha Armytage was quick to challenge Mr Koch: "I don't agree. I think if you want to breastfeed along the side of a pool you should be allowed. "

Mr Koch, who said the side of a public pool on a hot day was a high traffic area, felt breastfeeding there was inappropriate.

Since Mr Koch's comments, more mums have jumped on board with plans to stage a nurse-in protest outside the Sunrise studios in Sydney on Monday.

A Facebook event entitled Sunrise Nurse-In was created shortly after the segment was aired. Page creators stated in the event description that they felt Mr Koch's comments were an unfair view.

Mums are to host a nurse-in in support of Liana Webster at Bribie Island Aquatic Centre today.
