TWEED Seagulls have got themselves on the winners list for the first time this Intrust Super Cup season after a strong performance away from home against Souths Logan Magpies.

Bolstered by the late inclusion of Titans centre Maurice Blair and back rower Ben Ridge, the Seagulls were put under pressure by the home side in the first half but steamed home in the second stanza.

Both Blair and Ridge crossed the line for four pointers with Blair also making a crucial try saving tackle.

Going into the second half with a 16-0 lead, Tweed conceded first points in the second 40 minutes when Andrew Edwards went over for a Magpies try.

The game opened up with Ricardo Parata crashing over for a Seagulls try and their last for the game.

Another two tries from Souths brought the margin back to 22-14 before Tweed put the result beyond doubt with four pointers to half Michael Burgess and flyer Tom Merritt.

Tweed now hosts the Redcliffe Dolphins in round five after a 32-14 win over Souths.
