Vintage sounds at Movember fundraiser

Members are keen to keep their mo’s on as long as possible over the Christmas period.

SATURDAY night's "re-launch" of Mostaccio at the Naked Bean has been more than six months in the making - all shows prior to this considered mere warm-ups to the main event.

The show is a fundraiser for the Movember movement with all door fees (note donation) going to the men's health cause, prostate cancer and depression in particular.

It is also a show which will literally define the band - every member growing a "stonking" moustache for the vintage-style affair. "We are really looking forward to seeing all the great Movember Mo's out there," said percussionist/vocalist Glen McClymont.

"Dress code is 'suit'-able attire so we hope both the ladies and the blokes dress with a kind of vintage feel."

Much to the disappointment of some at DEX, the event will not be a big shave-off.

"I am personally hopeful that the lads hold on to their mo's long term," Glen said. "The real challenge is over the Christmas period and sporting a mo through all those prized family Christmas shots."

"I guess it is after Movember when we find out who the real men are."

Mostaccio is at 5 Church St in Bellingen on Friday night and then The Naked Bean on Saturday night.

Doors open from 6pm.
