Warner to face off against 'The Turbanator' in first Test

AUSTRALIAN opener David Warner is never short of a word or two when it comes to getting under the skin of those he's playing against - he might meet his match when the first Test starts in Chennai today ... Harbhajan Singh.

"The Turbanator" is in contention to play his 100th Test and the off-spinner is no stranger to dishing it out the Aussies, with both his mouth and the ball, since making his Test debut as a 17-year-old against Mark Taylor's team in Bangalore in 1998.

In the past, Australian teams have found the now 32-year-old to be almost unplayable on the turning wickets of India and his statistics prove it - he has taken 81 wickets at 24.48 in 12 homes Tests including seven five-wicket hauls and three 10-wicket hauls

Thirty-two of those wickets were claimed in the three-Test series of 2001.

However, it is not only his ability with the ball that Harbhajan has troubled those wearing a baggy green - his on-field chat has certainly fired them up in the past and it has landed him in trouble more than once.

The ugliest being the Monkeygate episode during the 2008 Sydney Test where he was accused of racially abusing Andrew Symonds.

Harbhajan was suspended for three matches, but the penalty was subsequently reduced to a fine on appeal.

Warner, who scored a 69-ball hundred, the fastest by an opener and the equal fourth-fastest ever behind Viv Richards (56), Adam Gilchrist (57) and Jack Gregory (67) against India at the WACA in Perth last year, said he hoped he could use his bat to end any trash talk.

"You know you are going to get a little bit of banter from certain people, but you have to learn to cop that and that's how it is," he said.

"We dish it out at home, we've got to be prepared to take it."
