A GOLD Coast City Council committee has recommended the approval of a $10 million transfer station at Reedy Creek.

The purposed transfer station is one step closer after being approved by the council's City Planning Committee today.

The transfer station will be built on the landfill site at Hutchinson Street if approved at a council meeting on Monday.

The station is the largest in the city and will feature a recycling goods shop, resource recovery area, green waste pad and waste transfer station.
