10 things to do at home when it's raining outside

WHEN it's raining outside and the weather is gloomy, just look around your home for fun things to do.

With predicted heavy rain set to hit Bundaberg on Saturday here are 10 things to do to keep you entertained at home.

Become a chef

Rainy days mean staying inside. Inside is where the fridge and oven is kept.

If you are no master chef, why not take the time to sharpen your cooking skills by whipping up some treats!

There are an abundance of websites available that list simple and satisfying recipes including taste.com.au and allrecipes.com.au

If your fridge isn't stocked to the brim with ingredients, fear not- there are apps for that.

Supercook and Epicurious are free to download on your mobile and will give you recipe ideas based on what you have in your cupboard.

Facebook defriend

Take the time to take a serious look at your friends on social media.

If you have no idea who you're following and why some guy from Kyrgyzstan keeps popping up in your page, clean out your friends list.

Watch the Harry Potter series in one sitting

It's been 15 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone hit the big screen.

What better way to revisit the magical world of wizards, hippogriffs and boggarts by watching it again.

And don't stop at one, why not go all out with a mega movie harrypotter-a-thon and watch all eight films in the one day.

That equals to a total of 19 hours and 39 minutes of pure Harry Potter fun- which is sure to keep you entertained on a rainy day.

Sexy times

"Girl, tonight we're gonna make love
You know how I know? Because its Wednesday
And Wednesday night is the night that we usually make love"

Flight of the Conchords had it right. Make it business time when it's raining outside.

Board games/cards

Dust off the Monopoly pieces, and Uno, Guess Who or set a Mouse Trap, just don't get in a Twist(er).

Relive your childhood and break out the board games for some indoor fun.

Colour co-ordinate your wardrobe

Channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw and send Mr Big into the next room while you throw open the doors of your closet and discover something akin to Narnia lurking behind all those dresses.

Braid your hair, pull up your knee-high stockings up and get busy colour co-ordinating your wardrobe into a masterpiece even Alicia Silverstone would be envious of.

Binge watch

PULL out the popcorn and get comfy while catching up with Game of Thrones.

Don't know your Starks from your Lannisters?

Perhaps there's a guy/girl you want to impress with your newfound Dothraki language.

Orange is the New Black, House of Cards and Daredevil all have one thing in common - these shows are all on Netflix.

So maybe it's time to Netflix and chill.

Rump shaker

Crank the boombox and pull out your sweats - it's Hammer time.

Drown out the rain with a dance routine Beyonce would kick it to.

Pull open the blinds and give your neighbours a show. Sweat like you just don't care y'all.

Backyard slip and slide

All you need is a sheet of plastic and some non-toxic detergent, and your togs! If you have a slope in your yard, even better.

There's nothing like getting all sudsy and silly - and there's no way the rain can ruin your parade, it only increases the fun.
