TWEED Shire Council has accepted a federal government grant of $1.1million to push ahead with a museum on Flagstaff Hill at Tweed Heads.

But the council was told if at sometime it wanted to move the proposed new museum to a different location it would have to go back to the federal government seeking a change to the contract providing the funds.

Only Greens councillor Katie Milne voted against accepting the grant.
