17-year-old from Bundaberg dies in crash outside Gympie

POLICE have confirmed the death of a 17-year-old Bundaberg West woman after a traffic crash approximately 10 kilometres south of Gympie last night.

Around 9pm, it is believed a car travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway crossed onto the incorrect side of the road for unknown reasons and collided with a four wheel drive.

The driver of the car was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Six occupants of the four wheel drive were taken to Gympie Hospital, but none are believed to have been seriously physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
