Nortec has found 377 jobs so far in 1000 job campaign

IT has been a smashing start to Nortec Tweed's 1000 jobs in 100 days campaign this year - already 377 people have been placed into jobs, over 70 of those in Tweed Heads.

Kingscliff resident Sarah Munro, 17, has been working in Best Friends Pet Supercentre for the past fortnight and loves her new role.

"I was interested in retail and I love animals so it was a good fit. My favour- ite part of the job is working with the animals for sure," Sarah said.

Nortec account manager Julian Beaumont said he was happy with the way the program was progressing in the early stages.

"Forging business partnerships and getting people back into work is always our objective. This year things have been going particularly well," Mr Beaumont said.

Best Friends Pets Supercentre store in Tweed Heads South have filled several positions through the campaign. General manager David Carter has been able to increase sales and services due to his new staff members.

"It is good for us having more staff on the floor providing better customer service and the goal is to obviously retain the new members of our team after their training," Mr Carter said.
