40 years of having a swinging time

THE Murwillumbah Services Social Golf Club will really get into the swing of things at Murwill-umbah RSL tonight to celebrate the club’s 40th anniversary.

As the night goes on eight-foot putts will become legendary 18-foot monsters, and the average driving distance will be doubled, but it’s all in good fun, according to club member Steve Walton.

“We’ve invited all the old members, so there are sure to be some tales,” he said.

“But more than anything it’s just going to be a good fun catch-up and I’m really looking forward to it.

“Hopefully a few old faces we haven’t seen in a while will make an appearance.”

The anniversary celebrations, involving more than 150 members, will double as the club’s annual presentation evening.

Tickets are $20 – which includes all food, drinks and entertainment – and can be purchased at the door.

Doors open at 6.30pm.
