4WD crash, one trapped

A 4WD towing a caravan crashed on the side of the Pacific Motorway at Chinderah yesterday afternoon.

At least one occupant was trapped and another was injured.

Initial reports suggest the 4WD left the road about 3pm about 200m south of Barneys Pt Bridge, causing the male occupant to be trapped for at least 20 minutes before emergency crews could free him.

Both occupants were taken to Tweed Hospital with unknown injuries.

The crash caused traffic build-ups until about 5pm.

It was unknown what caused the accident at time of print.
