$600 fine for not delivering iPad sold on eBay

A MOTHER of three has been fined after she failed to deliver an item she sold on eBay.

At Ipswich Magistrates Court, Samantha Elaine Beilby pleaded guilty to one charge of fraud.

The 24-year-old sold an Apple iPad online to a bidder for $522.41 on December 12, 2013.

After the female buyer failed to receive the item - or resolve the matter - after two months, she notified police.

Defence lawyer Claire Greer-Wilson said Beilby had paid back about $300 of the amount owed to the victim though instalments.

Beilby was convicted and fined $600 and ordered to pay the remaining restitution of $223.41.
