71-year-old attacked on bus over smoking

POLICE are calling for witnesses after an elderly man was assaulted on a bus travelling from Tweed Heads to Southport over the weekend.

The 71-year-old man was travelling from Tweed Heads to Southport on Saturday when he was allegedly punched in the face several times.

Queensland Police said a group of six men in their early twenties boarded the bus when it stopped at Tugun.
