80-year-old masseur faces more sex charges

POLICE have laid further charges on an 80-year-old Cooran man following ongoing investigations into alleged incidents at massage stalls at several Sunshine Coast markets.

Following an appeal for women who believed the may have been indecently dealt with during massages on the Sunshine Coast, seven more women have come forward.

The man has been charged with two additional charges of rape and seven further charges of sexual assault in relation to the alleged incidents at Maroochydore and Yandina market stalls between 2010 and 2014.

He has already faced court on eight charges of sexual assault and one count of rape.

All 18 charges will be heard in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on November 17.

Police continue to appeal for any women who have attended massage stalls at Sunshine Coast markets and believed they may have been a victim of assault to contact police at Maroochydore CIB on 54752429 or Policelink on 131444.
