Ashton Sims runs out for his 200th game Saturday night

THE disappointment of sitting 13th on the ladder just six weeks out from the finals, and seeing coach Neil Henry sacked, will be eased somewhat for Cowboys prop Ashton Sims when he runs out for his 200th game against Souths on Saturday night.

Sims said he could still vividly recall the lead-up to his debut for the Dragons.

"I was just a surfer punk kid from Gerringong on the New South Wales south coast," he said. "I still remember it like it was yesterday.

"I was down at Sizzler just across from Kogarah Oval. (Dragons coach) Nathan Brown came over with his old Nokia mobile phone, and said 'give your mum a call - you're playing first grade this week'.

"I got back to my all-you-can-eat meal straight after that."
